Event Summary – July 15, 16, 17, 2021
The Fishing For The Fight tournament takes place the 3rd week of July. We will kick off the event on the evening of Thursday with a meet & greet at the Goodrich home (located at 100 Willow Lake Rd in Pinedale) starting at 5:00 PM which will include dinner, beer & wine and orientation.
It is VERY IMPORTANT you attend the as, you will meet your guides, be assigned a fishing beat and given instructions for the next days fishing. We’ll have a catered dinner by the river, along with great fellowship and fishing stories. There will be music and lots of fun!
On Friday, you’ll enjoy a full day’s fishing with your guide on the water that was assigned. You’ll want to get an early start and be ready to wet your line at 8:00 AM sharp when scoring for the tournament begins. Remember, First Fish of the day is one of the winning categories. You’ll want to have coordinated a meeting time and place with your guide at the meet & greet the previous evening. Breakfast for both days IS NOT provided so you’ll need to make arrangements that accommodate your fishing schedules. You will be provided a lunch on Friday and teams will have the choice to eat on the run!
On Friday evening, we will hold a casual dinner and cash bar starting at 6:00pm on the deck of the Wind River Brewing Company (402 West Pine St. – Upstairs, Pinedale).
On Saturday morning, you will enjoy fishing with your guide on the same beat giving you an opportunity to get the “one that got away” or mine the best holes for that big one you know is still there. Fishing starts at 8:00 AM sharp. You will want to make sure you have had your breakfast and have coordinated a meeting place with your guide. Fishing on day 2 will end at 11:59:59pm and the last fish scored has to be TOUCHED by 11:59:59pm. Scoring will be governed by the points system detailed in the tournament rules, which you can find here.
On Saturday evening, teams will attend the Banquet and auction (Dogwood Valley Ranch, 10140 US HWY 191, Pinedale), where you will enjoy a catered meal and a cash donation bar. Social hour begins at 5:00pm, dinner will be served at 6:00pm.
All of the proceeds from the auction go directly to FFF, helping families in the FIGHT so please bid early and often.
We hope you’ll plan to spend a few more days in the area fishing with a local guide or on your own in the miles of public water Sublette County has to offer. You can also enjoy hiking, mountain biking or just relaxing in our clean mountain air, wide open spaces and incredible natural beauty.
